Our appointment book is computerized which allows us to efficiently make appointments for you and your pet. Our receptionists and team will attempt to accommodate all requests to the best of our ability. Emergencies are accepted anytime our clinic is open. If you feel you have an emergency with your pet, please call us or come to the hospital immediately. If possible it is best to call before coming in so that a staff member can advise you on your particular emergency.
Dentistry
We are proud to offer state of the art dentistry services at Old Troy Pike Vet Clinic. We have a high speed dental drill, which allows us to extract teeth safely and quickly. Our polishing and scaling equipment ensures that your pet's teeth will come out of their professional dental cleaning as pearly whites! We also offer digital dental radiography. Radiographs are an essential tool when assessing your pet's dental health. They allow us to see below the gumline and we are able to catch early signs of disease much sooner than without the radiographs. Please call us to set up an appointment for a dental evaluation today!
Therapeutic Laser Therapy
We are extremely excited to announce that beginning in July 2016, we will begin offering treatment using a Therapy Laser. This is a state of the art piece of equipment that promotes healing and increases comfort in a wide range of conditions, such as arthritis, surgical wounds, lick granulomas and cystitis. It is a non-invasive, drug-free alternative or addition to traditional medical or surgical treatments.Please don't hesitate to ask one of our doctors if this would be an option for your pet!
Nutritional Consultation and Planning
We know that it can be very hard to resist those puppy dog eyes when it comes to feeding your pet. Unfortunately, obesity is becoming a more and more prevalent and concerning problem among pet cats and dogs. Obesity can lead to many other conditions, some life-threatening. At Old Troy Pike Vet Clinic, our highest priority is making sure that your pet is living the happiest, healthiest life possible. We now offer nutritional consultation appointments which include an examination by one of our doctors, an evaluation of your pet's Body Condition Score, and a personalized nutritional plan that will guide you in helping your pet lose weight.
Surgery
We offer a wide range of surgical procedures at Old Troy Pike Veterinary Clinic, including both soft tissue and orthopedic procedures. From routine spays and neuters to more major procedures, if your pet requires surgery, rest assured that they will be in experienced hands.
We have a veterinarian and personnel on duty 6 days a week who are trained and equipped to handle any urgent care your pet has. Usually an emergency team consists of at least one veterinarian and several technicians working together to save a pet's life. Emergencies can be things such as snail bait poisoning, hit by car, and chocolate ingestion. If you ever feel that your pet needs emergency treatment do not hesitate to call or come in immediately. If possible it is best to call before coming in so that a team member can advise you on your particular emergency.
We are also available for urgent care when the condition is not life-threatening. If you feel your pet needs to be seen before you are able to get an appointment, our veterinarians will work to "squeeze" you in between scheduled appointments. When you arrive, our receptionists will be able to give you an estimate on how long you may have to wait in order to be seen.
